Prime Big Deal Days 2026: Home Office Prices to Beat for UK Freelancers

Published 27 September 2026. Updated 6 October 2026 with the prices we saw once the event went live.

Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days runs on 6 and 7 October 2026, 48 hours of deals for Prime members. For a freelancer that is a reasonable moment to fix the parts of a home setup that cost you every day: the webcam clients see, the headphones you take calls on, the laptop you are hunched over.

On 27 September we recorded what each item cost on an ordinary day, so that when a "deal" appeared you could tell whether it was one. The event is now live, and the actual prices are below.

Event update: what we saw on 6 October

We checked every item on Amazon UK in the early afternoon of 6 October. Nine of the eleven pieces of kit are on a Prime deal, and all nine are cheaper than they were on 27 September. Two have not moved, and none of the three books has changed.

The four worth acting on

• Logitech MK540 Keyboard and Mouse: £24.99, down from £39.00. That is 36% below the September price, and only £8.40 more than the basic MK270. The best deal on this page.
• Logitech C920 HD Pro Webcam: £37.99, down from £53.50. We said any real discount on it would be a genuine saving, because it was sitting at list price. This one is 29%.
• soundcore Anker Q30: £42.70, down from £54.99. 22% below the September price. Amazon shows it as 47% off £79.99, which it was not selling for ten days ago.
• Logitech MX Master 3S: £63.59, down from £74.00. The one we said to wait for. A 14% cut, which is solid for this mouse without being exceptional.

Real, but smaller than the badge suggests

• Logitech Brio 100: £24.69, down from £29.99. Shown as 38% off its £39.99 list price. Against what it actually cost, the saving is £5.30.
• Logitech MK270: £16.59, down from £19.99. This is the item we warned about. The badge compares it with a £34.99 list price and claims more than half off. The real saving is £3.40.
• Anker 8-in-1 dock: £30.99, down from £34.99. £4 off.
• Anker Zolo power bank: £26.99, down from £28.99. £2 off.
• Babacom laptop stand: £15.18, down from £15.98. 80p off.

No deal

• Sony WH-CH720N is still £64.99 and the Philips 27in monitor is still £149.99.
• All three books are at exactly their 27 September paperback prices.

Every deal above is Prime-exclusive. Amazon releases new deals through the event, so prices can change again before it ends on 7 October.

The one rule: judge the price, not the "was"

Amazon shows a crossed-out list price next to most products, and several of the items below showed one before the event had started. The Logitech MK270 has a list price of £34.99 and sold for £19.99 on an ordinary Sunday in September. Its event price of £16.59 is a real saving of £3.40, and nothing like the 53% the badge implies.

So compare every deal against the "Price on 27 Sep" column below, not against the crossed-out figure.

Video calls: webcams

Your laptop's built-in camera is usually the weakest part of a client call. A separate webcam at eye level fixes most of it.

The C920 is the long-standing default, with two microphones and autofocus. At £37.99 the gap to the budget option has shrunk to £13.30, which makes it the better buy of the two for most people. The Brio 100 adds a physical privacy shutter but has a single mic, which matters less if you use a headset.

Calls and focus: noise cancelling headphones

The Sony pair is the lighter of the two, which is what counts over a full working day, but it has no deal. The Q30 has the longer battery and more aggressive noise cancelling for the money, and it is now £22 cheaper than the Sony. Both support multipoint pairing, so your laptop and phone can stay connected together.

Turning a laptop into a desk

If you work on a laptop, these do more for your neck and wrists than any single expensive item.

Buy the stand and a keyboard together or not at all. Raising the screen without a separate keyboard just moves your wrists up to shoulder height. During the event the MK540 is the one to pick: it adds a palm rest and a fuller layout, and the deal has closed most of the gap to the MK270. The MX Master 3S has had the cut we expected.

A second screen, and one cable to run it

The Philips is one of very few 27-inch monitors at this price with a height-adjustable stand, which is the feature that matters most for posture. Its 1080p panel is fine for documents and email, softer for detailed design work. It has no deal, so there is no reason to rush it. The Anker dock runs two HDMI monitors, wired Ethernet and charging from one USB-C cable. Check your laptop first: base M1, M2 and M3 MacBooks drive only one external screen through a dock like this.

For working from client sites, trains and cafés. The 30W output tops up a phone or tablet quickly and slows a small laptop's battery drain, rather than powering a big one under load.

We expected paperback prices to move during the event. They have not.

Before you buy: the tax side

Equipment bought for your freelance work is usually a business cost, which makes a Prime Day saving go a little further.

• Cash basis is now the default for sole traders, so most equipment (not cars, land or buildings) is simply deducted as an allowable expense in the year you pay for it. If you use traditional accounting instead, you claim it through capital allowances, and the Annual Investment Allowance usually covers the full cost.
• Mixed use means a partial claim. Headphones you also use at the gym, or a power bank that lives in the family car, count only for the business share.
• Keep the order confirmation, not just the bank line. Amazon order details show what was bought, which a card statement does not.
• If you are VAT registered, check the invoice shows the seller's VAT number before reclaiming. Marketplace sellers do not always provide one.
• Making Tax Digital timing: the second MTD quarter closed on 5 October, so anything bought on 6 or 7 October falls into your third quarterly update, due 7 February 2027. See the 7 November MTD update for how the quarters fit together.
