Prime Big Deal Days 2026: Home Office Prices to Beat for UK Freelancers

Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days runs on 6 and 7 October 2026, 48 hours of deals for Prime members. For a freelancer that is a reasonable moment to fix the parts of a home setup that cost you every day: the webcam clients see, the headphones you take calls on, the laptop you are hunched over.

This is not a list of deal prices. Nobody knows those until the morning of 6 October, and any page claiming otherwise is guessing. It is a watchlist with today's prices, so that when a "deal" appears you can tell whether it is one.

The one rule: judge the price, not the "was"

Amazon shows a crossed-out list price next to most products, and several of the items below already show one before the event has started. The Logitech MK270 has a list price of £34.99 and sells for £19.99 on an ordinary Sunday in September. A Prime Day badge on that same £19.99 would not be a saving at all.

So compare every deal against the "Price on 27 Sep" column below, not against the crossed-out figure.

Video calls: webcams

Your laptop's built-in camera is usually the weakest part of a client call. A separate webcam at eye level fixes most of it.

The C920 is the long-standing default, with two microphones and autofocus. It is at its list price today, so any real Prime discount on it is a genuine saving. The Brio 100 is the budget route and adds a physical privacy shutter, but has a single mic, which matters less if you use a headset.

Calls and focus: noise cancelling headphones

The Sony pair is the lighter of the two, which is what counts over a full working day. The Q30 has the longer battery and more aggressive noise cancelling for the money. Both support multipoint pairing, so your laptop and phone can stay connected together.

Turning a laptop into a desk

If you work on a laptop, these three do more for your neck and wrists than any single expensive item.

Buy the stand and a keyboard together or not at all. Raising the screen without a separate keyboard just moves your wrists up to shoulder height. The MK270 is the cheap, dependable option; the MK540 adds a palm rest and a fuller layout. The MX Master 3S is the one to wait for: it is a regular Prime Day discount, and at barely below list price today there is room for a real cut.

The Philips is one of very few 27-inch monitors at this price with a height-adjustable stand, which is the feature that matters most for posture. Its 1080p panel is fine for documents and email, softer for detailed design work. The Anker dock runs two HDMI monitors, wired Ethernet and charging from one USB-C cable. Check your laptop first: base M1, M2 and M3 MacBooks drive only one external screen through a dock like this.

Before you buy: the tax side

Equipment bought for your freelance work is usually a business cost, which makes a Prime Day saving go a little further.

• Cash basis is now the default for sole traders, so most equipment (not cars, land or buildings) is simply deducted as an allowable expense in the year you pay for it. If you use traditional accounting instead, you claim it through capital allowances, and the Annual Investment Allowance usually covers the full cost.
• Mixed use means a partial claim. Headphones you also use at the gym, or a power bank that lives in the family car, count only for the business share.
• Keep the order confirmation, not just the bank line. Amazon order details show what was bought, which a card statement does not.
• If you are VAT registered, check the invoice shows the seller's VAT number before reclaiming. Marketplace sellers do not always provide one.
• Making Tax Digital timing: the second MTD quarter closes on 5 October, so anything bought on 6 or 7 October falls into your third quarterly update, due 7 February 2027. See the 7 November MTD update for how the quarters fit together.
